1. Volunteer Role & Duties
I, the undersigned, agree to serve as a volunteer for We Love Animals Rescue, Inc. (WLAR). I will perform tasks and duties as assigned, which may include animal care, transport, fundraising, events, shelter assistance, social media support, and other activities as requested by WLAR. I agree to follow all WLAR policies, procedures, and safety protocols while performing volunteer duties.
2. Training & Supervision
I acknowledge that WLAR may provide training, guidance, or supervision. I agree to comply with all instructions and directives from WLAR staff or designated supervisors.
3. Assumption of Risk
I understand that volunteering with animals and in rescue operations carries inherent risks (e.g., animal bites or scratches, zoonotic diseases, injuries during transport or handling, property damage, etc.). I willingly accept and assume all such risks, including those that may arise from negligence on the part of WLAR or others, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
4. Insurance & Medical Treatment
I understand that I am responsible for my health, medical, or accident insurance coverage while volunteering. In the event of injury, I authorize WLAR to seek medical or emergency care on my behalf if necessary, and I accept responsibility for any costs incurred.
5. Confidentiality & Use of Information
I will maintain the confidentiality of WLAR’s internal information, donor or adopter/foster records, and any sensitive or proprietary data. I agree not to use such information for personal gain or disclose it to unauthorized individuals.
6. Release, Hold Harmless & Indemnification
To the maximum extent allowed by law, I hereby release, defend, indemnify, and hold harmless We Love Animals Rescue, Inc., its officers, directors, employees, agents, volunteers, representatives, successors and assigns (the “Indemnitees”) from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, costs, losses, or expenses (including attorney’s fees) arising out of, connected with, or in any way related to: My volunteer activities, including care, handling, transport, or interaction with animals; Any injury (including death), damage, or harm to persons, animals, or property caused by or in connection with my volunteer service; Any breach by me of this Volunteer Agreement or of WLAR’s policies or instructions; Any negligent or intentional act or omission by me, or by persons under my supervision or in my household, in connection with my volunteer service. This release and indemnity covenant applies regardless of whether any claim arises in part from the negligence of WLAR or its representatives (to the extent that law permits). This obligation survives the termination of my volunteer service and is binding on my heirs, executors, and assigns.
7. Acknowledgment & Signature
I certify that I have read and fully understand this Volunteer Agreement and all of its terms. I agree to abide by its provisions and to act in the best interests of WLAR and the animals it serves. I hereby affirm that all statements made in this application are true and correct to the best of my knowledge.
