Happy Tails
We rescued a mom and her 4 puppies from an impoverished area in Broward County. There were 2 girls and 2 boys, about 8 weeks old and 4 pounds. Mom was a small 16 pound miniature pinscher and dad was a Shih Tzu. A fifth puppy as already “won” in a poker game. Fortunately we were able to retrieve this pup. Mom and her pups are super friendly. They were fully vetted and housed by VCA Imperial Point in Fort Lauderdale. 2 of the puppies were recently adopted into loving homes. Another rescue took in the mom and her 3 remaining puppies.

CLOVER was found on the side of the road in Davie. She was so skinny, covered in fleas and ticks. We could not just pass her by. We turned around and found her drinking from a lake. We could not locate her parents. We took her to the vet because she was in such bad shape. Then we began posting signs everywhere. A week went by, and no one stepped up to claim her. Our vet tested her for worms and treated her skin condition, which was mostly due to irritation from fleas. Fortunately, she did not have any other major problems. She was already spayed, and we gave her shots, heart worm, and flea preventative. Soon after posting her on Facebook's Lost Dogs or Broward and Dade Counties, an awesome lady responded that her family would be willing to take her in. "Clover" went home to her new family. I hugged her goodbye, and she kissed me as if she was thanking me for saving her life. A very tearful but happy moment. Clover is a total sweat heart. We will always remember her and love her forever.

WE LOVE ANIMALS RESCUE saved five kittens, including three boys and two girls. They are about 6 weeks old. The mother is safe and resides at a very nice home. She is happy, healthy, and cared for but lives outside (although she never leaves the property). The father is not a dead beat dad because he also resides at the home with the mom and her previous babies, which are now all grown up. The mom and dad are being fixed so they can live happily ever after with their family and without making it a much larger family. The kittens will be available for adoption by our rescue partner SMITTEN WITH KITTENS once they are fully vetted and fixed.

WE LOVE ANIMALS RESCUE participates in Broward County's Trap and Release Program (TNR). Each month dozens of stray cats are trapped and released by our organization. These cats are fixed, given shots and released back into their colonies. However, many of these cats are kittens and very adoptable. In these cases, we house and foster those kittens too young to be be fixed. Once they are fixed we adopt them out and work with our rescue partners who take the kittens in and find them homes. The below cats were from our most recent TNR. Two kittens, VIOLET (upper right) and LUNA MOONSTONE (lower right), were already adopted. The remaining kittens were taken in by SMITTEN WITH KITTENS and SAVING SAGE.

SAMMIE is female Rat Terrier mixed. She is about 2-3 years old. She spent her life living in a closet and was only fed when her owners remembered to buy dog food. She became pregnant but could not adequately nurse her 7 puppies because she was so malnourished herself. Her owner decided to give away one of her puppies prematurely. The puppy died because he was too young to be away from his mother. SAMMIE cried for days for her lost puppy. On the day we saved SAMMIE and the remaining puppies, the owner could not recall the last time SAMMIE was fed. SAMMIE was skin and bones and covered in fleas, so were her pups. We began to nurse the family back to good health. SAMMIE and her puppies were then taken in by our rescue partner 100+ ABANDONED DOGS OF EVERGLADES FLORIDA who housed, vetted, fixed and adopted them all into great homes.

COOKIE is a three year old female French Bulldog. She was found on the Florida Turnpike dodging traffic in the Keys area. She was spayed, micro-chipped and given her first set of shots. As you can see in the photos she is a major cutie, super sweat and friendly, but COOKIE does not like other dogs. She needed to be the only pet in the household, which is always a challenge in finding a good home because dog lovers usually have more than one dog. COOKIE was a lucky one. She was adopted by a wonderful young woman and now resides in Miami Beach. COOKIE is enjoying her new life and always updates us with selfies. We love our COOKIE! Special thanks to our rescue partner 100+ ABANDONED DOGS OF EVERGLADES FLORIDA for assisting us with Cookie.

JACK (tuxedo) and BINX are male and approximately 10-12 weeks old, while MAXIE (tiger) is female and about 6-8 weeks old. They are fixed, de‐wormed, and were given their first set of shots. These kittens are supper friendly and in good health. MAX has a sad story. She was one of 5 kittens found in a busy parking lot. They were too young to survive on their own and their mother was no where to be found. All four of Max's brothers and sisters died. Max was also very weak but fought to stay with us. Today she is the sole survivor of her litter. She was so depressed and sick when she lost her own family, but she is now happy and ready for her new adventure. MAX is a survivor and will always have a special place in our heart. UPDATE: JACK and MAXINE were adopted together by a cat lover and are currently living with two other feline siblings. BINX lives on a farm with a pig, a dog, a cat and his new best buddy--a ferret.

12 KITTENS looking for good homes. They are approximately 4-6 weeks old. Some are still too young to be neutered/spayed at this time, but they are eating on their own. They are in good health, very playful and friendly, and as cute as can be. Although there is no adoption fee, a small donation to the rescue would be appreciated. Please call Dana at 954-296-8208. UPDATE: All 12 kittens were adopted into loving homes.

SAMPSON was rescued from Miami-Dade Animal Services within hours of being euthanized. He is a neutered 2yr old black brindle German Shepherd mix. Sampson's owner surrendered him to the shelter heartworm-positive, covered in ticks and fleas, and with an imbedded collar. Sampson was treated for his heartworms, and today he is living heart worm-free. Samspon is super smart, enjoy belly rubs, giving you his paw, and licking your face all over. He has known nothing but pain, neglect and sadness in his. UPDATE: Sampson was adopted and is loving his new life.

PHILLIPS is a neutered male tricolor Labrador Retriever mix. He is 8 months old and weighs 42 pounds. I rescued Phillips on 4-25-14 from Miami Dade Animal Services because he became sick with a doggie cold, which placed him on death row. Phillips is super sweet and more mellow than your typical 8-month old puppy. He is very affectionate, just wants hugs and kisses! He gets along great with other dogs, cats and all people. He is also potty trained. This handsome, sweet boy was adopted and is loving his new life.

JORDAN, a gorgeous 6 month old lab mix (24lbs) was rescued from MDAS. Jordan was scheduled to be euthanized because of a broken rear leg. She received orthopedic surgery to repair her leg and is expected to make a full recovery. She never showed discomfort or let her injury get her down. Jordan was adopted by an awesome mommy and now lives in Boca Raton. She was loved by everyone who came into her life. We will never forget you Jordan!

ROCCO, a 4 month old male kitten, was rescued from the Humane Society of Broward County. He had a severe case of upper respiratory virus, which lasted for almost 3 weeks. We had to use a vaporizer because he could hardly breath on his own. Antibiotics had little impact. Rocco almost died because he became so weak from his illness. He was adopted and today he is a healthy and very rambunctious cat. Definitely a trouble maker! His favorite activity is pushing stuff off the counters and watching his sisters (2 dogs) tear things up! Then, of course, he takes no responsibility for the damage and blames the dogs. I think the severity of his illness combined with the prolonged use of antibiotics actually stunted his growth. Rocco remains the size of a kitten even though he is now an adult.
