1. Purpose & Term
I, the undersigned, agree to foster the above-described animal temporarily (the “Animal”) on behalf of
We Love Animals Rescue, Inc. (WLAR)
, until such time as the Animal is adopted or returned to WLAR. This is
not
an adoption, and ownership of the Animal remains with WLAR. I agree to follow WLAR’s protocols, including medical care, transport to events, and any other directives given by WLAR staff.
2. Care & Responsibility
I will provide humane care: food, water, shelter, exercise, socialization, and prompt veterinary attention if authorized. I will maintain the Animal’s safety, prevent escape, and comply with all local laws (licensing, leash laws, etc.). I will monitor the Animal’s health and behavior and report concerns to WLAR immediately. I understand that the Animal’s temperament or health may change and that WLAR makes no guarantee about the Animal’s behavior or condition.
3. Veterinary Care & Expenses
I will not seek veterinary care for the Animal without prior approval from WLAR, unless in emergencies. If I do incur veterinary costs without authorization, I accept full responsibility, and WLAR may refuse reimbursement. If in a life-threatening situation and WLAR cannot be reached in time, I may act in the Animal’s best interest, keeping receipts and notifying WLAR.
4. Return of Animal
Upon request by WLAR, I will return the Animal promptly, in as good condition as reasonably possible (ordinary wear accepted). I will not rehome or transfer the Animal to anyone else without WLAR’s written consent.
5. Assumption of Risk
I understand that fostering animals carries inherent risks (bites, scratches, disease transmission, property damage, injury to people or animals). I volunteer to take on these risks. I further understand that WLAR cannot fully predict behavior or health, and that the Animal may act unexpectedly.
6. Hold Harmless / Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I agree to
defend, indemnify, and hold harmless
We Love Animals Rescue, Inc.
, and its officers, directors, employees, agents, volunteers, successors and assigns (the “Indemnitees”) from and against any and all claims, demands, damages, losses, liabilities, costs or expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising from or related to: My care, custody, or control of the Animal while in my possession; Any injury (including death), damage, or harm to persons, animals, or property caused by or associated with the Animal; Any breach by me of any representation, duty, or covenant in this agreement; Any negligent or intentional act or omission by me, or by others in my household, related to fostering the Animal. This indemnification and hold harmless obligation applies even if a claim arises in part from the negligence of WLAR (unless prohibited by applicable law). This obligation survives the termination of this foster agreement in perpetuity, where allowed by law, and binds my heirs, executors, assigns, and estate.
7. Acknowledgment & Signature
I hereby certify that I have read and understood
all
of the terms in this Foster Agreement. I authorize WLAR to conduct reference checks, perform home visits, and verify the information I provided. I certify that all statements I made in the foster application (if applicable) are accurate and complete. I understand that failure to comply with the terms may result in the removal of the Animal and termination of my foster status.
